Tip: Tire Pressure:

Keeping your tire pressure at the right pressure is very important. Just as important as oil change and brake services. A good tire pressure offers economic benefits. You tires will last longer, conserve fuel, improve handling, and help avoid accidents. Having too low of pressure can increase your gas mileage use, create poor handling, danger if overloading, and cause faster ware and tare. We recommend checking your tire pressure routinely. In the winter, tire pressure can drop one to two pounds of air every month. In summer warm weather it can lose more air at higher rates.Keeping the tires inflated properly, if low the sidewall can sag and damage even the outside of the tires. Under inflation also results in excessive heat, which accelerates wear and may cause a blowout. Keeping a tire air pressure gauge in your glove compartment is recommended. Try to check your tire pressure twice a month, or just make it a habit to check a tire here and there when fueling gas. Also, do not forget about checking the pressure in your spare tire occasionally. You want to keep that tire as your reliable backup for when a tire problem occurs.

How do I know what my air pressure is? Commonly the air pressure should be on the tire, labeled “MAX PSI…” Other places, may be in the inside door or owners manual.

If you notice your air pressure is lowering very subtly, you may have a nail in your tire. The nail may be terribly hard to see, and the air loss may be very small over the course of 2 weeks. Be aware of this, and it is an easy solution. We can locate the nail, remove it, and plug it, and your tire will be as good as new.

We offer full tire services and replacements, including quality brands, warranties and maintenance plans.

When Is It Time To Replace Tires?

Inspect your tires for cuts, damage, cracks on the sidewall. Also inspect the tread on your tire. If you have a penny, turn the coin upside down with Lincoln’s head down. Put the coin in between the raised tread. If the top part of Lincoln’s head disappears your tread is adequate. Does your car sway or the the left or right? Does something not feel straight with holding the steering wheel and driving? This may mean your tires need an alignment. Not getting an alignment when needed can cause the tires to ride on the road not flat and flush and cause parts to ware very quickly.
