When does my batter need to be replaced?
Car batteries are of no concern and completely reliable for three years. Often longer than this, but after three, you may encounter problems. There are several factors that effect the timeline of battery life. Once your battery is over three years, we recommend us testing the battery to ensure the charge is good. We offer this as a free service.
Why is the top of my battery corroding.
Have you ever seen the connectors have a bunch of grey clay-like charcoal buildup all over it? That is corrosion on the battery terminals. If you only see it on the negative terminal, this usually means your car battery is undercharging itself. If it is only on the positive terminal, this usually means hydrogen gas is being produced by the acid in the car battery. The acid is getting exposed to the outside elements and reacting through corrosion. We can diagnose these problems and offer solutions. Often a cleaning, tightening the terminals, or new hardware can be a simple solution. Other times, it may mean your battery needs to be replaced. It is much better to discover this while your vehicle is in the shop vs. Monday morning while headed to work.

If everything looks good, we reinstall the hardware properly and the problem should not persist. If it does, that is just signs of the battery going bad, however still operational and we help you get the most out of your battery investment.
